Dean, Marty Thompson hosts  professors from the University of North Texas and teachers who are members of Dr. Robert's Collaborative For Excellence In Science Teaching, Region X - UNT at the Denton Independent School District's Advanced Technology Complex, 1504 Long Road, Denton, Texas 76207.

February 3, 2007, Teacher's received "hands-on" instruction in G.I.S., Geographic Information Systems, Denton County Database layers with E.R.S.I.'s ArcView and Satellite Tool Kit which is software used to work with satellite data. Teachers were able to add satellites at various orbits, set ground receiving stations and monitor data being sent and received from satellites on specific dates. SPACESTARS/DigitalQuest offers a certification in GIS after four semesters.

Dr. Mason of the UNT Chemistry Department is Co-Chair of an International Chemistry Teacher's Conference being hosted by the University of North Texas in July 2007.  There is a call for papers.

The caravan will leave Saturday at 0830 from the International House of
Pancakes (Lake Worth) off of north loop 820 at 5920 Quebec Street.  The
restaurant said to use the Quebec Street exit from 820.

It will be partly cloudy and warm that day.  Remember to bring sack lunch,
drinks, sunscreen, insect repellent, and other outdoor essentials for that
trip.  You might also want to bring something to place fossils into, as
well as something to press wildflowers.
